DESCRIPTION

This 0.5 volt photovoltaic solar cell comes encased in clear plastic for durability and has wires attached for ease of use. These high efficiency solar cells are ideal for a variety of science projects and hobbyist use. You don't have to worry about soldering with this solar cell module as the wires are already attached and ready for use.

You can use one or more of these to power our DC motors. Additional solar cells can be connected in parallel or in series to increase amperage or voltage as needed to power almost any DC electrical device. This solar cell produces 0.25 watt of power output at 500 mA and 0.5 volt. The size of the solar cell is approximately 6cm x 9cm.

A common method of capturing the sun's energy is with photovoltaic solar cells that absorb particles of light (photons), which are transferred to a semi-conductor in the cell to produce a flow of electricity.
