DESCRIPTION
By William Berman. A complete guide to dissection procedures! This manual provides instructions for how to dissect a crayfish, earthworm, grasshopper, clam, squid, starfish, dogfish shark, perch, frog, fetal pig, and flower. It also includes instructions for dissecting a pig (mammal) brain, heart, and eye. Each chapter includes special project ideas related to that specimen. Some evolutionary language in the introductory section for each specimen. 223 pp.
Note: This book recommends keeping formaldehyde on-hand to help keep specimens preserved during lengthy dissections. This is unnecessary and we think a bad idea in general. Modern preserved specimens do not need anything added during the dissection process and formaldehyde is a poison and carcinogen that must be used with care. Just place your specimens in a sealed poly bag between dissections and add a little water if they are drying out.
