DESCRIPTION
The history of teeth cleaning agents stretches back thousands of years. However, toothpaste as we know it today is a pretty recent development.
In this activity, students investigate properties of provided toothpaste samples. Test for fluoride presence, pH level, abrasiveness, and foaming ability. In a second activity, students use included materials to create their own toothpaste.
The Properties of Toothpaste Kit from Innovating Science has enough materials for 5 groups. Teacher’s Manual and Student Study Guide copymasters are included.
You provide distilled water, metric rulers, test tube rack, balance, and beakers or plastic cups.
WARNING: This product can expose you to Respirable crystalline silica, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer.
